Landscaping is where a project meets the outdoors: the entrance driveway, the path to the door, the edge of a lawn, the kerb along a society road. These are hard-working surfaces, driven on, walked on and rained on every year, so the base underneath matters as much as the stone on top. iSquare builds outdoor paving and landscape finishing for homes, villas, societies, commercial sites and campuses.
What we build outdoors
- Cobble and stone paving. Granite cobbles and setts laid in straight, curved and fan patterns for driveways, courtyards and entrances.
- Kerbs and edging. Kerb stones that hold paths and lawns in shape and separate walking and planting areas.
- Garden paths and walkways. Gravel, stone and paved paths with the right slope for water to run off.
- Outdoor tiling. Anti-skid tiles and paving for terraces, balconies and sit-outs.
- Boundary and entrance finishing. Gate approaches, steps and edge details that match the building.
Why the base decides how long it lasts
Paving fails from underneath. A soft or uneven base, poor compaction or missing drainage leads to sunken patches, loose stones and standing water. We prepare the sub-base, set levels and falls so water drains away from the building, and bed the stone properly before filling the joints. Where a driveway will carry cars, the base is built for that load, not for foot traffic alone.
Choosing the pattern
A cobble pattern is a design decision, not just a laying method. Straight rows look formal and are quick to lay; fan and curved patterns take more time but follow the shape of a drive or courtyard. We show you the options on a sample or drawing and agree the pattern, colour mix and edge details before work starts.
Landscape work usually follows the main building work, so we plan it alongside construction and tiles installation. Some of our paving work is shown in the site gallery.
How a paving job runs
- Survey and levelsWe walk the site, note drainage, existing levels and where vehicles will run, and mark out the area.
- Pattern and materialYou choose the stone, colour mix and pattern from samples or a drawing, and we agree kerb and edge details.
- Base preparationThe ground is excavated, sub-base laid and compacted, and falls are set so water drains away from the building.
- Laying and edgingKerbs go in first, then the stone is bedded course by course in the agreed pattern.
- Joints and handoverJoints are filled, the surface is cleaned, and we walk the finished area with you before handover.
Questions
What kind of paving do you lay?
Granite cobbles and setts, kerb stones, gravel and stone paths, and anti-skid outdoor tiles, depending on the site and how it will be used.
Can paving take car traffic?
Yes, if the base is built for it. We prepare and compact the base for the expected load before laying stone.
How do you stop water collecting on paved areas?
We set levels and falls so water runs away from the building and towards drains or planted areas.
Do you do landscaping for societies and commercial sites?
Yes. We take up paving, kerbs and walkways for villas, societies, commercial buildings and campuses.
